The new italki website launching on January 25th!

UPDATE: The new site launch at 01:00 UTC.  During the switchover period the website will be down for approximately 30 minutes in which italki will be inaccessible.  Contact italki support if you have any problems during this period as we will be on standby.

We’re excited to announce that the new italki site will be officially launching soon! On January 25th, the italki beta site ( will replace the current site (  After January 25th, when you go to, you will see a whole new italki. A big thank you to everyone who helped test our beta site!

All the features of the old “classic” italki website will work on the new site, with the following changes:

  • Rebranded italki logo and colors.  Our new italki logo and colors.  

  • New website design.  A complete redesign of the look and feel of the italki website optimized for mobile and tablet use.

  • Improved user interface.  We’ve simplified the interface to make it easier to use.
  • Instant Tutoring.  Get Instant Tutoring through teacher search (under “Availability”). See How Instant Tutoring works for Students or How Instant Tutoring works for Teachers

We recommend that you take some time to get used to the beta site now before January 25th! If you have any problems, questions, or suggestions, just contact italki support.

Don’t worry! If you need to go back to the classic italki website, you still can. Just click on Switch to Classic (see below) :

How long can I use the Classic site?

The classic site will be accessible for as long as it continues to work.  We’ll be adding many new features to the new italki site.  Unfortunately, these new features won’t be available on the old site.  As long as the classic site still works, it will be available for use.  However, a time will come when the classic site will not function properly as it becomes out-dated and “breaks”.  When this happens, we will have to remove the classic site from use.
