    Huh? This seems so confusing and convoluted. And are we still getting the crazy 11 notifications per lesson?

    @Dave, maybe this way we'll forget how bad the new messaging system is... 

    I just wanted to say how frustrating it is when you are always trying to improve and do your work the best way possible, but italki (that WAS working) gets in the way.

    it's not fair a student cancels a lesson (instead of rescheduling) because he didn't receive an answer from me of a message I wasn't notified about.

    Luciano Pergoraro gave you brilliant feedback. I wonder whether you will actually listen to it. 

    I feel terribly rude that your new system does not give me the opportunity to send a message to a declined lesson request. 

    It makes me feel uncomfortable that you are either perfectly okay with that OR that you are unable to notice or tackle that error? Bizarre.

    Mandana I find this very strange, because I have already refused classes.

    Regina I prefer this way, which is similar to the version of the site before the classic version, how they put everything together and always lots of notifications was horrible, at least now they are by category.

    For me this new system is really confusing. Italki was working so well..now I have difficulties to do everything if I enter on Italki with my phone. I sometimes can't see lesson requests, I can't transfer money, I can't see how many classes I have in a day and which student requested them, I can't see all my time slots on the calendar..I find the app on the phone really bad and sometimes it seems that Italki wants to show that they change things and "modernize" the site but what really happens is that teachers are having more problems and students sometimes think is our fault.

    Words can’t express how challenging the new system is. Everything worked beautifully before. Who is benefitting from the new system. It’s awful. Nothing is visible or clear anymore.

    I have just noticed a bug whereby messages that I send to friends and students are being duplicated. Further to this, in one of my conversations my messages are adding to the bottom of the chat while the student's messages are adding to the top. I'd be very glad if you could troubleshoot this issue, unless it is only me that is experiencing this.

    My messages STILL aren't getting out to new teachers... the problem has been going on for weeks and tech support is convinced that it's my fault, either via bad wifi connection (the same wifi in my office that supports all of my classes on Zoom or Skype without a problem) or because I'm spamming teachers (yet, when I sent them my message, couldn't tell me what would be considered spam about the messages). I know other students and teachers that are having the same issue but tech support isn't helping so...... I guess I'm being forced off the platform because I can't use the messenger?

    I know... for me they look like they send out but the teachers never get them. (I only even know about this because one of the new teachers I was trying to contact has a mutual friend with me and she had to put us in a WhatsApp group to help communicate). I want to stay with iTalki because my experiences have always been awesome but I've started using JustLearn and LiveLingua to see how they do because no matter how many emails I sent customer service they havent helped me.....

    I find it strange some people can't send msg because I have responded to messages. Maybe you can use the classic version until it's gone. What they told you?

    I am not getting any notifications or emails about student messages, only requests and that's only through email. I am having to log in every couple of hours on my computer or app to check if I have requests or messages which I normally do. It would be nice to be informed about them properly, esp now we are bound to 12 hour requests.

    Scheduling with 12 instead of 24 was something that many wanted because they ended the instant tutoring. Messages and requests for classes go directly to spam so I do not fill up the email. How do I go to italki every day and if I have the page open in the browser I get notifications even though I'm doing something else does not bother me.

    I used to use the Classic version as much as possible, because I want to avoid the inefficient mess of the new system. Now we are going to be forced to migrate from a running system to a limping system. For me, this is a very sad moment.

    Get a new head of IT or at least put someone human in charge of your website functionality, i.e. not an IT geek. The upgrades have got consistently worse, and as everyone has pointed out above, the current system is a confusing mess. One example: I am trying to find details of a lesson package I've taken. Is this easy to find? Not all, though I'm given options for hundreds of other items I have absolutely no interest in. Come on, italki! This used to be a good site, but it is close to being unusable now.

    I just used the message system with the new file feature and it works really well.  This is very convenient to send materials right from the message board.  This will save me some time, so I will definitely use this for my students.

    I'm having a lot of trouble with the messaging system. First of all, on my phone, it usually shows the completely wrong avatar for each student. I have several students that have the same name, so the avatar helps me tell them apart without having to go through and read their profiles. 

    Meanwhile usually after I read a message it pops up again as read. I usually have to read messages several times to make sure they are actually new messages and not old messages that are being marked as unread. This happens on both the app and the desktop version of the site. This is frustrating because it not only happens with messages, but with notifications about lessons, so on a normal day I receive 1-2 actual messages but sometimes have to open over 50 "messages" as I'll have my actual messages which show up as new 4-5 times, plus all the lesson notifications which show up as new several times over. Since there is no "mark as unread" function for the messages, I am scared to check messages quickly in case it's something I need to respond to and don't have time to before class, so I often have to leave my messages until later in the day, at which point they're so buried in notifications that it's easy to miss, given that the read ones still show up as read, so I wind up reading and rereading everything multiple times in case I've missed something, which wastes a lot of time.

    I will be really happy when this is fixed. Thanks.

    p.s. For a day we were receiving email notifications with the message embedded in them, but that feature's gone away. I really liked that. Could you please consider bringing it back? Thanks!
