Many teachers experience difficulties in getting a sufficient lesson amount after taking a long break from teaching. All their old students have gone and may have found new teachers. If you are in the same boat, here are some suggestions for you.
The first thing you can do is contact all your old students and let them know you’re teaching again. It would make sense for you to incentivize them by offering them preferential pricing. Do bring yourself up to date with their progress during this time and understand their objectives, wants and needs as they may have changed since you last taught them.
We’re constantly adding new website features to help teachers so please make sure you know what they are and use them to your advantage. We strongly recommend reading our latest italki product announcement. to learn about our newest features.
Consider refreshing your video and written introduction. It might be helpful to explain to potential students that you took some time off and now you’re actively looking for new students.
You can increase your visibility by contributing to the italki Community section and adding a link to your italki teaching profile on your social media accounts.
If you have completed less than 50 lessons and are back from a long break. Please refer to this case study for teachers who have been on italki for over a year with less than 50 lessons completed.
