Hi! I found your webinar insightful.
Especially:
"making sure that they can see you and hear you clearly," √ right
"Use technology only when it adds value" √ right
"Tools and materials, don't overdo it" √ right
"make sure that you're not trying to multitask, check messages while teaching" √ essential! Focus, focus on the conversation, especially for beginners who need to get all attention to build confidence
Edgar Gale pyramid √ excellent
"create the right atmosphere," √ right! But how? What is the *magic* behind a good atmosphere?
Looking forward to join your next webinar!
Léa
Hi Léa,
Thank you for the positive feedback! We're glad that you enjoyed the webinar.
I think the atmosphere is something that is created by the attitudes of the teacher and student to the learning and to the individual lesson. The facial expressions and body language the teacher uses can impact how the learner reacts to the lesson material. Think about how the teacher might be perceived if she is slouching in her chair, resting her head on her hand and yawing every now and then, or one who impatiently answers her own questions and rolls her eyes when the student takes a few seconds to formulate a response.
I don't think there is too much magic behind it (luckily!). Be engaged, supportive, prepared and patient and a good atmosphere creates itself.
Best wishes,
Tracey
Hi there
Thank you for helping other teachers to improve!
Is it possible for you to upload the recording of the webinar in a direct video file (mp4)?
Because in my country, we don't have access to YouTube and it's not so convenient for us to attend in these webinars and I'm sure that there are other countries with restrictions on YouTube so please do something for this group of teachers.
Thanks
Hi Meysam,
Which country are you in?
I'm from Iran.
Is it possible to download the recording of the webinar in a video file?
Wouldn't it be great if, on the header for this webinar, it said: 'Come and register *for* the upcoming Teacher Webinar...'? Being an English tutor, it would fill me with more confidence about these teaching aids if little things like prepositions were used. Just a thought...
Thank you so much, very informative, as a new teacher this will help me to improve my teaching skills. Keep up the good work.
