italki Language Assessment will be released in the upcoming months. It’s a great tool to help students assess their learning progress and/or better prepare them for an official language test.
Main features
- Supports 6 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Portuguese.
- Speaking assessment is available along with grammar, vocabulary and reading assessment.

If you’re teaching test preparation lessons, you can recommend italki Language Assessment to your students as a mock test before taking an official language test. The assessment isn’t the same as an official language test like IELTS or TOEFL, but it’s an efficient and cost effective way for a student to understand their level before taking a real test.
If you’re teaching conversation lessons or accent reduction, the speaking assessment will serve as sufficient proof demonstrating your student’s improved pronunciation after your lessons.

There are 2 options: italki Language Test which includes True North Speaking Test and WebCAPE Grammar Test and Oxford Online Placement Test.

I'm an Italian teacher and, along these years, many more students have been learning Italian all around the world. Please, add Italian among the languages if you can!
I would love it if you also included a Swahili exam in probably a later phase, though not a top subject a standardized test would be an incentive to new learners in this platform.
Interesting. It's a bit pricier than what I'd expect. I'd love to see a sample test to have a better idea of what to expect. I'm surprised to see it not being offered for Mandarin.
Given that there are already TrueNorth and WebCAPE tests available for Mandarin, I think it would be nice to see an Italki Language Test being added for Mandarin.
