    This was a good read! I definitely see my own language tutor as a 'coach' as you've mentioned in these top trends and she steers me towards my goals and I hope I can play the same role for my students and keep encouraging them to reach their potential!

    I absolutely agree with the line: "Students can find all the resources online and do self-study but need a coach to show them the right direction and motivate them to reach the goal."
    This is why students come to platforms such as italki. They cannot get real-world interactive experience by reading a grammar book or watching YouTube videos. This is where we, as teachers, become guides, cheerleaders, supporters and morale boosters. I firmly believe in commending students however I can before pointing out areas in which they can improve. It boosts their confidence, which boosts their motivation!

    As a student (and future tutor) I couldn't agree more. It is very important to consider the students' needs and approach to learning a new language before asking them to do this or that.
