What’s Ask a Teacher?

Ask A Teacher is a new Community feature designed to help learners get corrections and answers from teachers.

For Learners:

1. Learners will be given the option to ask a teacher when they finish publishing an exercise or a question.

2. Each learner who just published their post will be shown a list of 5 teachers who teach their learning language. Learners can invite all 5 teachers to help them with their exercise or question.

   

For Teachers:

1. If a learner invites you to help, you will receive a private message.

2. You can visit the question or exercise by clicking the message. Helping learners is optional, but if you do, your answer will be highlighted with an “Invitee“ tag to let people know you helped.

Important Information:

• There are a lot of teachers on italki! It’s very possible that you won’t get an invitation immediately after Ask a Teacher is released.

• Teachers who help others in the Community usually have higher lesson request rates. Even if you’re not invited to help through Ask a Teacher, you’re still very welcome to answer questions and correct exercises in the italki Community!
