Yes, thank you very much.
That's amazing!
Thanks! Students always ask for this, so that’s great!
This is excellent news indeed. Thank you, ITALKI team!
The only thing: sharing Personal ID like this may not be comfortable for some.
Do you know if there is a way to create a separate room for classes please?
Excelente noticia!
It would be better if italki can create a room for the teacher and student on zoom instead of using teachers’ own ID😄
Wow,this tool is really good, I use it for a while, excellent, I always recommend it to my students! Thanks!
Fantastically detailed, thanks for sharing.
Thank you italki.
Awesome 😎 although sharing our personal zoom ID is a bit too much 😃😃
Why on earth do we need to use our personal ID? That would mean everyone can just log in when I'm chatting with friends. I would love to use Zoom but not under these conditions.
EDIT: I see people asking for a link per student. I don't know how that will work, but I just made one link called "Italki lesson" which I use for all students. I can't see why I'm not able to use that one?
I use a recurring meeting for this, like Pepita. For security reasons, I never share my personal ID. If you activate the waiting room, the next student waits there until you allow him in.
I thought without a subscription you can only use Zoom for 45 minutes? Is it only for groups of 3 or more?!
Petra Only when you're with 3 or more :).
I have a subscription since March last year. It is worth the money in my opinion. I've been using the same link for all my students for months. They find it very useful. No hassle with new links for every lesson. If a student logs in a little earlier, he will remain in the waiting room until the previous student has left. This does not work with the free version, because sometimes 3 people could be connected at the same time and then the limitation of 40 minutes kicks in.
This is great news! Thank you, Italki :)
A good move!
I've been using the free version of Zoom for a while and given my personal meeting details out to a few students. However, I'm going to change to an 'Italki students' meeting, set as a recurring meeting, rather than give out my personal meeting details on the website. This can be accessed at any time although I'll enable the waiting room.
A question: Does anyone know, if you are in a meeting with a student, and another joins the waiting room, will that count as 3 attendees, and trigger a 40 minute limit? I'm hoping that someone in the waiting room won't count towards the attendee numbers. Some students like to check in early to check its working so this could be an issue if the original meeting gets timed out!
Thanks!
