In October 2020, we launched an identity verification process for all new teacher applicants. This process aims to reduce the number of fraudulent accounts and better protect teachers and students.
This verification process is entirely online and complies with KYC/AML and GDPR regulations. Applicants will be asked to upload their passport or government-issued identification, but italki won’t store any personal information during the process.
All identity verification will be processed by our partner Sum&Substance.
If you’ve completed your verification and would like your data deleted from Sum&Substance, please contact support@italki.com.
